In Rotterdam there are plenty of places that you can go for a "drink" or a "joint". It all depends on where you want to go. Although there are many bars in Rotterdam, one that we would recommend is Nobby's bar (if you are English). Here you can get a full English fry up (also called a full English breakfast) and a bottle of Heineken for f 17.50. The bar also has a large screen TV where you'll find all the English's programs on. If you drink Guiness then you can visit one of the Irish pubs my recommendation is 'O'Sheas which is about a 5 min. walk from the Metro Beurs.

If you are a tourist looking for a coffeeshop, there are plenty around. Although soft drugs are not legal, they are tolerated. The tolerant attitude towards soft drugs (like hash and marijuana) is almost as famous as the tulips. Here is a list of 6 the best. The numbers in red are the telephone numbers, the writing in brackets is a quick description, so here they are:

	Big Bambu: Bergsingel 228 (4670873) (name pays tribute to the relaxing atmosphere inside)
	Take 5: Hillelaan 85 (4863917) (across Erasmus Bridge in the south, you can also play pool)
	1-2-3 Translation: Buitenhofstraat 102 (in summer, sit on the terrace and enjoy a fruitcocktail)

You may prefer something different, then there is the Beer museum and brewery. It is located in the former town hall of Delfshaven. Quoted from the guide we are using it reads "go back in time and enjoy several Dutch beers and the delicious dishes". De Pelgrim, Aaldrechtskolk 12 (4771189).

NIGHTCLUBS

There are lots of Nightclubs in Rotterdam the best thing about Nightclubs in Rotterdam is they start at around 12:30 a.m. and finish at around 07:30 a.m. which is alot different to England! Our recommendations depending on what type of music you like are:

DE BOOT BAROCCA

The Boot costs f 17.50 to enter which is about 6 or 7 pounds to enter and the drinks are reasonably priced, after being to this Nightclub I found it had an excellent atmosphere and Two excellent tropical theme bars. The staff are very helpful and friendly especially when they realized I was English. So if you like Dance/House this is definetly somewhere you should go and try to get in before 1 a.m. as it gets very busy.

The Jam

If you like R.N.B then this is the perfect night club for as it has just re-opened after a refurbishment and is inexpensive to enter (only f 15.00 which is about 5 pounds). It is very easy to find as it oppsite to the ROC ZADKINE (College) and a 5 min walk from the Metro Stadhuis.
